IGG Opens Cases Against Chris Obore and Six Others Over Alleged Misuse of Parliamentary Funds

The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) has opened cases against former Parliament Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs Chris Obore and six other individuals over allegations of fraud and misappropriation of public funds at Parliament.

The IGG is seeking to have the accused persons committed to the High Court, where they are expected to face charges relating to the alleged misuse and loss of parliamentary funds.

The case forms part of investigations into financial transactions and activities at Parliament that the anti-corruption body believes may have resulted in the improper use of public resources.

Obore and the six others are expected to answer to the allegations before court as investigations and legal proceedings continue. The charges remain allegations until proven in court.

The development adds to growing scrutiny of financial management and accountability within Parliament, with anti-corruption authorities stepping up efforts to hold public officials accountable for suspected misuse of government funds.

The IGG has called for the suspects to face the High Court, where evidence surrounding the alleged offences will be examined and each accused person will have an opportunity to defend themselves. The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) has opened cases against former Parliament Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs Chris Obore and six other individuals over allegations of fraud and misappropriation of public funds at Parliament.
