On saturday the body of the late Sarah Eperu was laid to rest in Koloin ,Ngora district amidst the differences between the FDC Najjanakumbi and that of Katonga.
The delegation of FDC Najjanankumbi was led by the party President Patrick Amuriat and the Katonga delegation was led by it’s icon Dr. Kiiza Besigye clashed over who was responsible on organising the final send off of the late.
While speaking to the media today, Amuriat said that there was no need for Dr. Besigye to come with a big security entourage to the burial because in the 20 years he has worked with him, he has never been harmed while is in their region and that no one had set out to harm him.
While giving his speech in Katonga, Dr Kizza Besigye emphasised the need for leaders and other community members to help people when they are alive, which Patrick refuted saying that their Party was supportive in Sarah Eperu’s treatment.
The Rev Fr. John Eriauto in his speech, he called for reconciliation among the two factions, stressing the need for forgiveness amidst political strife. “If forgiveness is not given a chance then we shall not realise development.” He said.
This was after the two parties had both organised the funeral for the late , but the family of the late told the mourners that Sarah wanted Dr Kizza Besigye to be the main celebrant since by the time of her death, she had sided with the Katonga faction.
Sarah had worked with FDC for the past two decades as the spokesperson of the women league and by the time she met her death, she was the FDC leader in Koloni, Ngora district.
She passed on at Life link hospital in Kampala on Sunday due to renal complications and laid to rest on Saturday in Koloni, district.
