On 31 July 2026, UCC, in partnership with Renowned Events Balunywa Promotions, will organize a memorable cultural event at Sheraton Hotel Kampala Gardens under the theme “Ataakuaba Akunyooma.”
The event is dedicated to remembering and celebrating Uganda’s veteran local artists whose talent, dedication, and creativity have shaped the country’s music and entertainment industry over the years. It aims to honor their lasting contributions while inspiring younger generations to appreciate and preserve Uganda’s rich cultural heritage.
The campaign will also serve as a platform to encourage support for local artists and promote unity within the creative industry. Through music performances, tributes, speeches, and cultural showcases, attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of legendary entertainers who have made significant contributions to Uganda’s arts and culture.
Organizers say the event seeks to promote respect for local talent and encourage the public to value and support Ugandan artists. The theme, “Ataakuaba Akunyooma,” emphasizes the importance of recognizing and appreciating those who have dedicated their lives to entertaining and educating society through music and the performing arts.
The evening will feature performances by veteran musicians, guest appearances from industry stakeholders, and special recognition awards for outstanding contributions to Uganda’s entertainment sector. It is expected to attract artists, media personalities, government officials, corporate partners, and music lovers from across the country.
