American actor and musician Tyrese Gibson has arrived in Uganda for a visit aimed at promoting the country’s growing coffee tourism sector and showcasing its wider tourism potential to an international audience.
Gibson, best known for his roles in Hollywood films and his successful music career, touched down at Entebbe International Airport as part of the Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism initiative and the Africa Coffee Fest.
According to information shared by local organisers and tourism promoters, the visit will see the American star take part in activities designed to highlight Uganda’s coffee industry and promote the country as a unique tourism destination.
A promotional poster indicates that the Coffee Tourism programme is scheduled to run from August 25 to 27, 2026, covering several destinations including Entebbe, Kampala, Jinja and Western Uganda, before returning to Entebbe.
Gibson is also expected to engage with the media and tourism stakeholders during his stay in the country.
His visit is seen as a major boost for Uganda’s tourism promotion efforts, particularly as the country seeks to use high-profile personalities to attract international attention to its coffee, culture, natural attractions and hospitality industry.
