Manchester City is poised to intervene and bring an end to defender Issa Kabore’s disastrous loan spell at Benfica. The Burkina Faso international will return to the Etihad this month, with City officials already exploring alternative loan options for the second half of the season.

Despite his initial enthusiasm, the right-back struggled to break into the team, making just seven appearances, with only two starts and a meager 11 minutes of league action.
