EDUCATION: THE CHAOS OF STUDENTS GOING BACK TO SCHOOL.

The ministry of Education and Sports in Uganda has become very weak and failed to enforce laws.

According to the 2024 school calendar schools are to start on Monday 5th  February 2024 and carry on studies until may, 3rd  2024 lasting for 89days. Term two will also start in may 27th  2024 also lasting 89 days ending on 23rd august, 2024. According to the ministry of education and sports, term three will commence on 16th September 2024 and end on 6th December 2024.

Most of the schools in Kampala city have reported today Monday 29th January 2024   and teachers are in schools seriously teaching.

In 2007 the ministry of education and sports banned holiday teaching in Schools. And though the ban still stands, some schools continue to defy and teach during holidays.

This teaching is common in private schools but we are  not seeing the ministry of Education acting anywhere.

Should we think that ministry of Education and sports is for only government Schools?.

Should we think the ministry of Education released two calendars for 2024 or it made a mistake some where?

It is the role of the ministry to check whether every thing is going on well as planned and make sure that the ministry laws are active and working.
