Any thing aired out that is not on his plan , the media owners faces his terrible actions like , suspending or closing completely there media centers. So without reliable information, it becomes difficult for citizens to understand the true state of affairs in the country. This lack of access helps the government spread its own narrative and prevents the public from questioning the leadership.
Control of the Media in Uganda
Museveni’s government has a strong influence over much of the media in Uganda. By controlling radio, television, and newspapers, the government can decide which news is shared with the public. This means that negative stories about the government are often censored, while positive stories are highlighted. This media control helps Museveni maintain his leadership by shaping public perception.
The Role of the Education System in Uganda
The education system in Uganda also plays a crucial role in keeping the public uninformed. Many schools lack the resources needed for quality education. As a result, students do not develop the critical thinking skills necessary to question the government’s actions. So a weak education system allows the government to control the public narrative and limit demands for change. That’s why NUP realized it early in opened a school of leadership that will help those who have interest in politics to have a hit at least.
