The Uganda Cranes have arrived in Tunis ahead of their opening TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 qualifying match against Tunisia on September 24, 2026.
The Ugandan team was welcomed at Tunis-Carthage International Airport by Uganda’s Ambassador to the Maghreb, H.E. Alintuma Nsambu John Chrysostom, alongside Tunisia Football Federation President Moëz Nasri.
The arrival marks an important stage in head coach Paul Put’s preparations for the qualification campaign, with the coach working with a new-look 28-man squad.
The Cranes are expected to begin preparations immediately in Tunis as they get ready for what will be a demanding away fixture against the North African side.
Following the Tunisia encounter, Uganda will return home for another qualifying match against Libya on September 29 at Hoima City Stadium.
The Cranes will be hoping to collect positive results from the opening fixtures as they begin their campaign for a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
