Uganda revenue authority [URA] double taxation leads business sectors to cripple

In a business peoples meeting in Kampala, the Kampala arcade traders association chairman katongole Godfrey requested government investigations intervention into Uganda revenue authority [URA] corruption deals.

Katongole expressed concerns with reasons that Uganda revenue authority [URA] double taxation for corruption leads business sectors to cripple.

”The state house Anti corruption unit to should come up immediately to investigate URA”.

Over 50 arcades in Kampala are about to close due to URA double taxes.

Katongole Godfrey adds that many traders in and out side Kampala including importers and exporters are quitting business because of fabrics of taxes by URA officials.

” Uganda would be more rich having good road, hospitals, and better infrastructures than it is now”.

“But due to corruption within Uganda revenue authority many business allover the country are crippled”.

Doubling taxes is the one way of the exobiology of indirect taxes policies as well as corruption in Uganda revenue authority (URA) official.

Under the policy as amended in 2017, many types of taxes which includes property rent and import duties amongst others are doubled indirectly and directly for corruption.

Arcades including commercial buildings in Kampala are  vacated by business people due to tax Burdens Katongole Godfrey says.
