Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament Anita Annet Among has publicly expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, following what she described as a decision to grant her mercy.
In a series of posts shared on her X account, Among said she was thankful to God for the gift of life and freedom, before extending her appreciation to President Museveni for what she described as his “unmatched parental grace” and decision to show her mercy.
“I take this opportunity to thank the Almighty God for the gift of life and freedom. My profound and heartfelt appreciation goes to His Excellency, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for his unmatched parental grace and decision to grant me mercy,” Among wrote.
The Bukedea Woman MP also extended her gratitude to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, praising him for his professionalism throughout the period.
“I also extend my gratitude to the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for his professionalism throughout this period,” she said.
Among further pledged to continue serving the people of Bukedea and to remain committed to what she described as the country’s “revolutionary leadership.”
“As the Woman MP for Bukedea, I look forward to continuing my work for my constituents and standing firm with our revolutionary leadership,” she added.
The posts have attracted attention on social media, particularly because of Among’s reference to being granted mercy and her public appreciation of the President and the Chief of Defence Forces.
While the MP did not provide further details in the posts about the circumstances surrounding the decision, her message strongly signals her gratitude for the intervention and her intention to continue working for the people she represents in Bukedea.
