President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Hon. Juma Witonze Kisekka as the new State Minister for Internal Affairs, adding him to the team responsible for overseeing some of Uganda’s most critical internal security and public administration functions.
The appointment, announced as part of the latest changes in government, places Kisekka at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he will work alongside the senior ministry leadership to strengthen service delivery and support the implementation of government programmes.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs plays a central role in maintaining law and order, supervising immigration services, citizenship matters, national identification, and coordinating agencies responsible for the country’s internal security.
Kisekka’s elevation to the Cabinet has been welcomed by his supporters and political allies, who describe him as a dedicated public servant with experience in leadership and community mobilisation. Many have expressed confidence that he will bring fresh energy and commitment to the ministry.
His appointment reflects President Museveni’s continued efforts to strengthen his government ahead of key national programmes and policy implementation.
