Ssemujju Nganda’s Property Sale Sparks Speculation Over Future Plans

Former Kira Municipality MP and exiled People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Secretary General Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda is reportedly disposing of several of his high-value properties, including his residence in Bukasa and a commercial building in Bweyogerere.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Ssemujju has instructed city property dealers to find buyers for his Bukasa home, which sits on more than an acre of land in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District. The property is reportedly being marketed for between Shs1 billion and Shs1.5 billion, with several prospective buyers said to have already inspected the residence.

The Bukasa property is not the only asset reportedly on the market. Sources also claim that Ssemujju is selling his commercial building in Bweyogerere, which he previously purchased from the family of former CBS Radio presenter Tamale Konde after the broadcaster relocated to the United States with his family.

Insiders allege that the proceeds from the sale of the properties are intended to support Ssemujju’s life in exile alongside his wife and children. He reportedly left Uganda after learning of what he believed were plans to implicate him in corruption allegations linked to former Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, as well as in the treason case involving opposition figure Dr Kizza Besigye. President Yoweri Museveni has previously accused those facing treason charges of plotting to assassinate him and several senior UPDF generals.

However, other sources offer a different account, claiming that Ssemujju may instead be preparing to relocate to his recently established home in Mukono North, where he is said to own an extensive farm and garden.

The claims surrounding the sale of the properties and Ssemujju’s future plans have not been independently verified, and he has not publicly commented on the reports.
