UBL Commissions Water Projects in Kabarole, Enhancing Community Access to Clean Water

In a significant step towards improving access to clean water, Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) has commissioned water projects worth Shs190 million in Kabarole. The initiative, which includes a solar-powered mini-water scheme and a hand pump, aims to benefit over 1,100 people in Hakibale Village and Bulera Village, Kibasi Town Council. By addressing water scarcity issues in the area, UBL’s investment is expected to reduce health problems and promote community well-being.

The water projects demonstrate UBL’s commitment to supporting communities through various initiatives. This effort aligns with the government’s National Development Plan (NDP) III, which prioritizes human capital development interventions. By investing in clean water infrastructure, UBL is contributing to the improvement of health outcomes and quality of life for residents in Kabarole.

Victoria Rusoke, State Minister for Local Government, commended UBL for their donation, emphasizing the importance of community ownership and wise use of these water resources. She urged the community to protect and maintain the facilities to ensure their longevity. This initiative showcases the positive impact of public-private partnerships in addressing community needs and promoting sustainable development.

UBL’s investment in water projects in Kabarole is a testament to the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility. As the community benefits from this initiative, it is clear that UBL’s efforts will have a lasting impact on the lives of those they touch. By prioritizing community development and well-being, UBL is contributing to a brighter future for the people of Kabarole.
