The Uganda’s new oil terminal is being planned to work as follows.

With its extensive fiber-optic network allowing online connectivity,East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) promises to be one of the world’s smartest & safest bulk pipelines with real-time monitoring along its entire length via satellite.

The East African crude oil pipeline is a project that is structured solely to transport the crude from Hoima to Tanga Port in Tanzania. It’s going to be roughly 1,443 kilometers in length, and it’s going to be heated, and insulated

Recent studies outline that the entire 1,443 km pipeline will be equipped with a network of electrical and fiber-optic cables to provide continuous heating and real-time satellite monitoring, ensuring prompt detection and prevention of potential leaks

This is Valued at approximately $4 billion, this will play a pivotal role in the growth of Uganda’s flourishing oil and gas sector, with plans for its inaugural crude oil pumping in 2025 .

This project will also come with employment opportunities both in the construction process and even when it is done. As of now, the Uganda National Oil Company has provided Jobs to 13,821 Ugandans.

In her media briefing, the Executive Director Uganda National Oil Company Ms. Proscovia Nabanja said “UNOC generates revenue to reduce the burden on the Treasury because if we generate that revenue, we can use it for investments in other projects where we participate, so that we don’t burden the national treasury.”
