Two Ugandan women at Pattaya beach in Thailand negotiating with tourists for sex for money
Sept 30 — Two Ugandan ladies are facing deportation from Thailand for forcing tourists into live sex for money at the country’s beaches.
The two Ugandan ladies were arrested during an operation by the Thai authorities to crackdown foreign sex workers operating in the popular beachside city of Pattaya.
The operation followed surge of complaints from distressed tourists who reported being harassed, followed and even threatened along the beachfront particularly by African women.
The two Ugandan women, aged 31 and 40 were arrested last week September 23rd 2025 by undercover police officers conducting surveillance along Pattaya Beach.
According to police, the women aggressively approached tourists and solicited them for paid sex acts.
“Visitors said they were followed, insulted and pressured by groups of African women, many of them Ugandans,” Thai police said. Some tourists went further, alleging that they had been coerced into handing over money and in certain cases, felt physically threatened when they refused.
To verify the reports, an undercover police officer posed as a tourist on the beach and confirmed firsthand the behavior when the two Ugandan women approached him and offered sexual services in exchange for money. Their arrest followed shortly after and they face charges related to prostitution with the possibility of deportation due to violation of Thai immigration law.
Thai police reiterated that prostitution remains illegal in Thailand regardless of nationality. Authorities further say aggressive solicitation, intimidation and public nuisance behavior cannot be tolerated, especially when it affects the safety and comfort of visiting tourists. “Prostitution is illegal in Thailand for both locals and foreigners,” a police spokesperson said adding “the aggressive behavior of some sex workers makes tourists feel unsafe and harms the country’s image as a holiday destination
