The Democratic Party (DP) in Uganda is moving forward with its national delegates conference despite reported attempts at internal sabotage. DP Secretary General Gerald Siranda confirmed that preparations are complete, and the party has secured official clearance from authorities. The conference is scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 1 in Mbarara City, western Uganda, at Asamar Hotel, with over 1,000 delegates expected to attend.

The DP Vice President for the Western Region, Hajji Imam Makumbi, echoed Siranda’s concerns, warning against individuals attempting to destabilize the conference.
