The first Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga has accused two senior ministers and other political leaders from the Kyabazinga, Yudaya Babirye and Ahmed Noor Osman, of blackmail.

Speaking at a wedding in Mayuge District, Kadaga expressed frustration over the ministers’ negative comments about her role in the royal succession of Prince William Nadiope.
She emphasized her significant contributions to Nadiope’s enthronement, explaining that she dedicated six years to this cause.
Kadaga criticized the ministers, who were only appointed after Nadiope became king, for attempting to undermine her efforts.
She urged them to focus on their duties instead of resorting to blackmail.
Kadaga admitted that she had remained silent for some time but warned that her patience was wearing thin.
She cautioned the ministers and other leaders from the east side who includes the speaker of parliament Anita Among to reconsider their actions, hinting that she would no longer tolerate their behavior.
Her remarks shed light on growing tensions within the kingdom’s leadership and the challenges that arise when newer appointees clash with seasoned figures.
As previously Speaker of Parliament Anita Among officially announced her intention to contest for the position of National Vice Chairperson (Female) in the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
And as the position is currently held by the Minister of East African Community Affairs, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.

Among clarified the scope of her bid, emphasizing that it is for a national position rather than a regional one.
“I’m not standing for the position for the eastern region. I’m standing for the position of National Vice Chairperson (Female),” Among stated.
Among’s declaration signals a potential leadership contest within the NRM as the party prepares for internal elections.
