Traders crys ahead of independence day of Uganda.

In the series of TV10 gano mazima stories of corruption in Uganda revenue authority (URA), many Ugandan business people closed their shops due to bribes in URA offices allover the country.

We TV10 gano mazima have interviewed different traders to hear their views about the  independence day of Uganda, many of them expressed complaints about corruption in URA.

 ” We have no reason to celebrate or mark the Uganda’s independence of 1962 since the URA became an authority of corrupt officials”

Business people says that URA tax collection system or policy never been in fever of traders instead of tax collectors channels of bribery.

Challenges of Uganda’s businesses are due to unfair taxes resulting many to collapse within a short time. It’s on record statistically that many Ugandan starts business and not stay for long.

Business of people collapse within a short period of time after the start for reasons of high taxes.

” Government increase taxes to cover high external debts and it’s budgets meaning Uganda is not yet economically independent” Traders told TV10. 

Business people also says that Uganda’s debts and government budget increased because of URA bribery or corruption through taxes assessment.

The tax collectors determine the tax assessment form according to the amount of bribe a business parson give to the URA officials.

Traders in different areas of Uganda have complaints, and TV10 ganomazima reached many of them fiscally to hear from them as Ugandans celebrating the independence.
