WORLD NEWS: World Health Organisation Delivers Medical Supplies In Gaza.

Yesterday, the world health organisation delivered medical supplies to a southern based hospital in Gaza. Before these recents fights, the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis was the best referral hospital in the area and surrounding communities, but as we speak now, the health facility is poorly stocked. The WHO Secretary General shared the following on his twitter account;

“Amid ongoing heavy military operations in the vicinity of the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, #Gaza, @WHO and partners were able to reach the hospital yesterday and deliver essential medical supplies for 1000 patients. The team had also planned to deliver food to the hospital, but the delivery was delayed.Delays like these increase the health risks of vulnerable patients and hamper health personnel.

Nasser Hospital is currently serving 400 patients. Once the most important referral hospital in southern Gaza, within a week Nasser has gone from partially to minimally functional, reflecting the unwarranted and ongoing dismantling of the health system.

Nasser has a serious shortage of: – specialised medical practitioners, as the majority of health personnel are volunteers – medicines, oxygen, food, fuel – ways to dispose of solid waste The morale of the medical staff has significantly declined due to these grim circumstances.

Today, due to delays around the checkpoint, the crowds took food being delivered, and once again it did not reach Nasser. This underscores the utter desperation of people in Gaza, who live in hellish conditions, including severe hunger. We continue to seek permission to deliver the fuel to the hospital.”

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor by December 30, 2023, over 30,034 deaths had been registered, and that total number of deaths, their were over 27,681 civilians. That is why many human activists around the world have been coming out vigorously on the need to end the fighting in these areas.
