Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, better known as Salim Saleh, has appointed former Pader Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Dusman Okee as the new spokesperson for Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
The appointment places Okee at the center of the government’s communication efforts for one of its flagship socio-economic programmes. He will now serve as the official voice of the Office of the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation, a role that includes engaging the media, responding to public concerns, and providing updates on the programme’s activities.
Okee is no stranger to public service. During his years as RDC for Pader District, he worked closely with local leaders, government agencies, and communities to oversee the implementation of government programmes. His experience in public administration and grassroots engagement is believed to have influenced his selection for the new role.
Operation Wealth Creation, coordinated by Gen. Saleh, focuses on improving household incomes by supporting agricultural production, promoting value addition, and expanding economic opportunities, particularly in rural communities. The programme has remained a key part of the government’s strategy to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods across the country.
As spokesperson, Okee is expected to communicate the programme’s achievements, explain ongoing initiatives, and help strengthen public understanding of OWC’s work. He will also be responsible for handling media engagements and responding to issues concerning the office.
News of his appointment has drawn congratulatory messages from colleagues, local leaders, and members of the public, many describing it as recognition of his years of service in government.
Okee is expected to assume his new responsibilities with immediate effect.
