President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), has arrived at Kaweweta Basic Military Training School in Nakaseke District to preside over the pass-out ceremony of more than 10,000 newly trained UPDF recruits.
The President is accompanied by the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, alongside other senior military leaders, as the recruits celebrate the successful completion of their intensive military training.

Addressing the gathering, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba emphasized the importance of patriotism, loyalty, and safeguarding Uganda’s national interests. He stated that the UPDF “can’t and shall not tolerate agents of foreign interests who work secretly to weaken the country’s progress,” reaffirming the force’s commitment to defending Uganda’s sovereignty, stability, and development.
The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the new soldiers and their families as the recruits officially transition from trainees into members of the UPDF. During their training, they have acquired military skills while being equipped with the discipline, teamwork, and professionalism required to serve and protect the nation.
