Kadaga Summons Minister Over Ruparelia Assault Incident

The former Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, and her interaction with the Ruparelia family. There are a couple of scenarios where Kadaga has been involved with the Ruparelias:

  • Condolence Visit: Kadaga was among prominent figures who visited Sudhir Ruparelia to mourn the passing of his son, Rajiv Ruparelia. However, there’s no confirmation on the exact date of this visit.
  • Flagging Off Medical Camp: Kadaga was set to flag off a free eye medical camp organized by the Ruparelia Foundation in Kamuli District.
  • Summoning Minister Over Rajiv Ruparelia’s Assault: In 2020, Kadaga summoned the Minister of Internal Affairs, Gen Jeje Odongo, to explain the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault on Rajiv Ruparelia by police officers. Rajiv Ruparelia, the Managing Director of Ruparelia Group and son of Sudhir Ruparelia, accused the officers of assaulting him near his home in Kololo, a Kampala suburb.
