Uganda’s media fraternity is mourning the loss of two Next Media journalists who died in a tragic road accident along Entebbe Road in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Badru Kasirye, a producer at Next Media, and Isaac Ndagigye, who both lost their lives when the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a devastating crash.
Photos shared after the accident show the extent of the impact, with the Toyota vehicle sustaining severe damage to its front section, highlighting the force of the collision.
The accident also left their colleague, Ssemanda Makona, a well-known entertainment journalist and television personality, critically injured. According to the latest reports, Makona was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he is receiving specialized medical treatment. His condition remains serious as family, friends and colleagues continue to pray for his recovery.
The heartbreaking news has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s media industry, with fellow journalists, public figures and members of the public expressing grief and paying tribute to the deceased for their dedication to the profession.
Messages of condolence have continued to pour in for the families of Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndagigye, as well as the entire Next Media team, describing the loss as a painful blow to the country’s journalism fraternity.
